Brazoria County Paddle Trails — App Privacy Policy
Effective date: September 16, 2026
PaddleTexas (also called Brazoria County Paddle Trails) is provided by Explore More Kayak & Paddleboard Rentals. This policy explains how the app handles information.
Information we collect
The app does not require an account. Its current features do not request your device’s location, contacts, camera, or photos, and it does not include advertising or a dedicated user analytics service. Weather and tide requests use fixed regional coordinates and a selected NOAA station, not your device’s GPS position. Displayed trail and launch coordinates describe public places.
When you submit a review, the app sends the trail or launch identifier, your optional public display name, star rating, review text, publication consent, and a random installation identifier to Explore More’s website. Reviews stay private until approved. Approved display names, ratings, review text, and dates are visible to other app users. Display names are not verified identities. Do not include private or sensitive information in reviews.
The website stores a keyed form of the installation identifier to associate submissions, prevent duplicates, and block abusive contributors. The app stores the identifier securely on your device. A public pseudonymous contributor identifier allows other users to block that contributor’s reviews locally. Short-lived keyed network-address values help limit abusive submissions. Hosting logs may also record technical request information.
Reporting an inappropriate review sends the review identifier and installation identifier to the moderation service. Blocking a contributor stores a preference on your device; you can clear these preferences using Manage blocked contributors.
Report incorrect information and Suggest a location open your email application with a draft addressed to Exploremoresbtx@gmail.com. Nothing is sent until you choose Send. Explore More receives your email address and the information you include. Reports and suggestions are not published automatically. Older app versions may also send reviews through email.
Services used by the app
The app requests forecasts from Open-Meteo, tide predictions from NOAA, and published Texas Parks and Wildlife Department trail data hosted on Esri ArcGIS. The iPhone map uses Apple Maps. These providers may receive technical information such as your IP address and the map area or data requested when delivering their services. Their privacy policies apply to their processing. Some trail and launch information is bundled with the app.
The app may open the Explore More website, your phone’s map application for directions, and Texas Parks and Wildlife Department pages. Directions links pass the selected launch’s destination coordinates. Any location permission used by the separate navigation app is controlled there. Websites, booking providers, email providers, and navigation services operate under their own policies. This policy covers the paddle app, not all activity on the Explore More website.
How information is used
We use reviews and technical identifiers to provide community feedback, moderate content, and prevent abuse. We use emailed reports and location suggestions to respond, evaluate proposed locations, and improve trail or launch information. We do not sell personal information or use it for targeted advertising.
Data retention and deletion
Approved reviews remain visible until removed. Pending reviews are stored privately for moderation. Hidden or rejected reviews remain in private moderation records until deleted by Explore More. To request removal, email Exploremoresbtx@gmail.com and include the trail or launch, display name, date, and review text so we can identify the review. Hiding a review removes it from public display but does not delete the private record; please specify if you are requesting deletion.
You can request deletion of information you sent by email by contacting Exploremoresbtx@gmail.com from the same email address. We will delete it unless we need to retain it for a legal obligation or to resolve a dispute.
Children’s privacy
PaddleTexas is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
Changes and contact
We may update this policy as the app changes. For questions about this policy, contact Exploremoresbtx@gmail.com.
